St. Peregrin Rainwater Collection Project
The Problem
The school serves 430 boarding and day students, taught by 18 teachers throughout 6 classrooms. Their main water source is a shallow well with a pump that is shared with the surrounding community which students must travel to in order to bring water back to the school.
The Solution
We are funding a new 10,000 liter polyethylene tank for rainwater collection. The tank will be paired with four hollow-fiber membrane water filters in order to ensure that all water collected from the tank will be safe for drinking, accompanied by handwashing stations to encourage and provide the means for safe hygiene.
