Juanga Chalkboards

The Problem

Located in the small rural village of Juanga, the local school had chalkboards that were damaged and nearly unusable, making teaching that much more difficult for the staff.

The Solution

Under our 10-Cent Project Solution program, we collaborated with the Joseph Bressinger School in New Jersey and the Shuang Wen School in New York City to raise the funds necessary for the installation of new chalkboards for the school.

Project Updates

December 2012

Six new chalkboards were purchased and installed at the local high school (grades 5-10) in the village of Juanga located in Odisha, India.

Previously, the classrooms had a painted surface that would easily deteriorate in a short time from general use and weather conditions.  The new chalkboards are more durable and provides the teachers with a proper surface for teaching the students.
