Makindu Water Tank

The Problem

Like many rural schools, The Kansas College School in Makindu, Uganda had no local water source for its 300 students and staff.

The Solution

The funds raised for this project resulted in the installation of a new rainwater catchment tank for the students and staff. The tank is situated within a brick frame for both stability and security.

Project Updates

October 2014

Work is already underway at the Kansas College School in Makindu, Uganda. The new water tank will provide clean water to nearly 300 students at the school. Prior to issuing this grant, the school had no local source of water available to them.

December 2014

The new tank has arrived at the Kansas College School in Makindu, Uganda. Several members of the local community were on hand to help unload the large tank and roll it into place for final installation. Once secured, water lines will be run for rainwater catchment and the tank will be in use by students and staff.

The finished water tank has been installed at the Kansas College School in Makindu Uganda. A ceremony was held for the official “tank give away” by the staff of Mission for Community Development (MCODE) with students and school officials. The tank is now providing water for over 300 students. Many thanks to the donation team members who provided the funding for this project.
